I recently read on CNS (Catholic News Service) that the Bishops of England & Wales are producing a million 'Faith Cards'. The cards are there to identify the holder as a Catholic in case of accident. A brilliant idea I think. CNS stated that:
"The credit card-sized items will be distributed during February and March throughout all dioceses, including the Bishopric of the Forces and the Personal Ordinariate of Our Lady of Walsingham."The Department for Evangelization and Catechesis of the Bishops' Conference of England and Wales announced on Jan. 31:
"The cards should serve as a reminder that all baptized are invited to know and share their faith."I think the new cards are a great idea and wish the Bishops and all involved in the production of these cards the best of luck.

A very good idea. When I was young, this was a common practice. Glad to see it's being revived. This is especially important now. I gather in the last few years UK government rules have made it much harder for hospital chaplains to find out who is of the faith. [And not just the Catholic faith, but any faith.]
